Happy Birthday, Erie Canal!
The Chittenango Landing Canal Boat Museum
Old Erie Canal State Historic Park
Welcome!
We are a privately-funded site on both the State and National Register of Historic Places.
Located on the Enlarged Erie Canal, our site is a unique nineteenth-century dry dock complex that can be the backdrop for you journey through history.
Experience what life was like working and living along the Erie Canal! View the three dry dock bays (deep, middle, and shallow). Explore the reconstructed general store, the blacksmith shop, boat shop, mule stable, and visitors center.
We offer history and educational programming.
The Empire Trail passes directly across the Erie Canal from our site. Stop in for a break if you’re biking, walking, skiing, or snowmobiling!
Current - early Spring 2026 Hours
Open Wednesday - Sunday, 10 am - 4 pm
