Launch Locations

Choose from 4 launch locations depending on your preferred distance. All paddlers end at Chittenango Landing Canal Boat Museum for 12:30 pm drone photo and Boat Float Bash!

Launch location choices:

8 am: Cedar Bay Launch. Total one way distance to Chittenango Landing Canal Boat Museum is 9.5 miles

9 am: Manlius Center Launch. Total one way distance to Chittenango Landing Canal Boat Museum is 7.2 miles

11 am: Poolsbrook launch. Total one way distance to Chitteanango Landing Canal Boat Museum is 3.2 miles ** NEW ** Poolsbrook has a fully accessible ADA launch!

11 am: Chittenango Landing Canal Boat Museum launch. This is an out and back launch location. Paddlers will launch and paddle to their preferred distance then paddle back to the Museum for the 12:30 drone photo and Folk Festival. Note: The Chittenango Creek Aqueduct is only 0.4 miles west of the boat museum so its close and easy to see!

*Please note that restrooms are only available at Cedar Bay, Pool’s Brook, Chittenango Landing Canal Boat Museum, and Recognition Park locations.

Cedar Bay Launch: DeWitt -

Paddlers will launch at 8 am from this location

Follow Cedar Bay Road to the parking lot for Cedar Bay Park. Turn right into the parking lot. Follow the the short trail at the east end of the parking lot to the boat launch.

Manlius Center Launch: Manlius -

Paddlers will launch at 9 am from this location

A large parking lot dedicated to Old Erie Canal State Park users is located at the convergence of Green Lakes Road, Manlius Center Road (Rt. 290), N. Manlius Street, and Minoa Road. The Boat launch is a series of stairs at the end of the path leading to the canal trail from the parking lot.

Poolsbrook Launch: Kirkville -

*ADA Launch Site

Paddlers will launch at 11 am from this location

From Route 5 turn north on to 290/Green Lakes Road. After about 1 mile take a right onto Kinderhook Road. After about 3/4 mile turn left onto Poolsbrook Road. After about 1/2 mile turn right onto Andrus Rd. Take the first left into the driveway for Pool's Brook Park. Follow signs for the canoe launch.

Chittenango landing Canal Boat Museum Chittenango -

Paddlers will launch at 11 am from this location

717 Kirkville Rd. Chittenango. Paddlers can launch anytime after 11am and enjoy anout and back paddle of the Canal in the surrounding area. Just make sure you are back to the bridge by 12:30 for the annual drone photo and then join us afterward for the Folk Fest!
