Step Back in Time

  • Explore the historic Chittenango Landing dry dock site, in use from 1855–1917.

  • Visit the General Store, imagine life along the Erie Canal, and explore the recreated historic spaces.

  • See the Mule Barn, Forge, and Sawmill, and learn how canal boats were built and powered.

  • Climb aboard an 80% scale model canal boat and walk the towpath to follow in the footsteps of mule drivers.

  • Discover the Chittenango Landing Canal Boat Museum and the fascinating story of its rediscovery in the 1980s.
