Policing on the Erie Canal

As the historian for the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office, Jon will deliver a presentation focusing on crime on the Erie Canal. The topic includes the urban red-light districts, various crimes and law enforcement issues associated with the canal era. Subjects discussed include the Sabbatarian movement, canal laws, juvenile canal boys and the underground railroad. Q&A will follow his presentation.
