The Chittenango Landing Canal Boat Museum works to provide a safe and healthy environment for all our visitors, staff and volunteers. Towards this end, we request the following policy be followed.
We request that anyone with the following symptoms not visit the museum:
• Fever
• Cold/Flu symptoms (headache, fever, chills, lethargy, muscle aches, cough, sore throat, a fresh sneezy/running cold)
• Upper respiratory infections (nasal congestion, runny nose, scratchy throat, painful swallowing, cough watery eyes –
with or without fever)
• Diarrhea or vomiting
• Conjunctivitis or “pink eye” infection
• Strep Throat (must be on antibiotics for 48 hours before coming to the museum)
Staff may be called upon to ask a visitor to leave if symptoms are present. In some instances, isolation may be arranged to allow for transportation or other support.
Any visitors who appear to have acute respiratory illness symptoms (i.e. cough, shortness of breath) may be asked to reschedule their visit. Schools should make every effort to identify and send home sick children before arriving at the museum.
Children who arrive sick and those who become ill during their field trip will be asked to wait with their teacher in the museum office, or other designated area, until they can be picked up by a parent or guardian.
Visitors who must discontinue their visit due to a health concern are eligible for a refund of fees paid.
Executive Director, Health Director or designee will determine whether a visitor must leave the premises or wait in an approved location.
The health and safety of CLCBM staff, volunteers and guests is our highest priority. Thank you for your cooperation!
